The bolivians just love to party and after bigger carnevals there are smaller carnevals in many villages. Mayka is quite wealthy farmingvillage just outside Cochabamba. Our Tinkugroup was invited to a festival and I decided to go wtih them for the experience and a chance to dance little bit more my favourite dance.

We were supposed to leave at 10 a.m. from Cocha, but it finally happened at 11.30. This is very typical phenomenon here. Dancing on the cobblestonestreets between the fileds was scenic, but not verycomfortable experience and basicly we just walked behind the band. The band and the dancers were drinking slowly but surely bad local beer and Chicha. Chicha is the local fermented corndrink with some alcohol in it. It is carried in the buckets in this kind of small carnevals. It is like juice, but people do get very drunk from drinking it a lot. After walking and dancing around the village we participated the dancingcompetition which took place on a footballfield. Every group was trying to give their best. We danced as a group and the best inviduals also showed their best steps. After the long drinking brake we danced a little bit more. I was already exhausted and my feet hurt, because the dancingsandals aren't very comfortable. After long day of dancing and drinking it was good to get some food and of course some more chicha. In this kind of villages locals are eager to speak with the only gringo especially when they get drunk enough. Then we head back to the city. On the way I was asked if I want to go again on sunday, but I couldn't. Maybe it was better because it would have been even more serious drinking and less dancing.
